Going to be adding some additional stuff such as a Mailing List, etc. in the future. I think you might have a bit of a problem with the website. I just went there and using Firefox 3.6.5pre there is nothing but a black page. Opera shows the BassKandy logo on a black page and Konqueror (similar to Safari) shows only a white page. Interestingly Firefox redirects to www.wix.com/basskandy/bk as does Opera whilst Konqueror displays www.wix.com/basskandy/I'm not sure what the problem is but I'm sure it's a Flash one. Does anyone else here have a Wix.com site to check?

Looks great to me! It's still looking very black here - using Firefox. On Opera I can see the Logo with a black background but that is all. Were you using Internet Explorer?

I can see most of the lures there using FireFox. Using IE7 I can see them all. FireFox is really starting to piss me off though And I am really going to start using IE again when coding stuff I thing. Why? Because it display perfectly fine in IE, yet in FireFox, not all of the images display. Can someone tell me why? Anyway I think it looks great - but I still dont know why the following dont display in FireFox: Swamp Shad, Mad Parrot, Mojito, Kandy Kane, Vanilla Moss..

Ted, it has to be understood that Firefox is a standards compliant browser whereas IE isn't. Most website building tools are geared for the most popular web browser which happens to be IE and therefore the code that they put out is not standards compliant and other browsers will not display the content properly. It is not Firefox's fault but applications that bow to Micro$oft.

I'll have to take a look and play around with it.
fishin_in_israel, can you click on the logo once it appears?
I like Firefox for the security but it does make designing a website difficult.
I switched from windows to Mac years ago so I'm using Safari.

BTW ... your web browser will show that you were redirected to www.wix.com/basskandy/bkThis is because I first set up my site with godaddy.com but didn't like there web builder. Hard to use. So I used Wix.com and just redirected my site. Wix uses a lot of Flash ... I may have to see about removing it. Since you can't reach using Apple products like the iPhone.

I'll have to take a look and play around with it. fishin_in_israel, can you click on the logo once it appears? I like Firefox for the security but it does make designing a website difficult. I switched from windows to Mac years ago so I'm using Safari. Using Opera (on Linux - Kubuntu) I can see the logo and it is clickable, although at first there is no 'hand' to show that the element is clickable. After clicking on the logo all the menus and links show up and I can browse the site. Using Konqueror, Linux's version of Safari, I get just a continuous restarting 'Loading' Flash element. Firefox doesn't show anything except a black blank page with nothing [hidden] which is clickable. Personally I really don't like Flash sites as, although the eye candy is there you cannot hope to get any 'help' from search engines, and therefore SEO and page rankings - your site won't show up very good in a Google search as there is 'nothing' to index. Google is 'blind' and its robots read web pages as if using a 'screen reader' and Flash doesn't work well with screen readers. I got to get to work now so will continue later. Just to say Joomla! is easy to learn and looks great with many many options for adding extras..... Nigel

I had a thought last night before going to sleep about why basskandy.com only shows a black blank page in firefox. The answer? I had blocked the flash ads here on rapalanation - sorry Ted but they really slow down the page load times - and of course a lot of the flash ads are from wix.com. What I didn't realise - and it sounds a stupid way of offering a website building suite - is that blocking one flash ad from wix.com blocks everything from wix.com - including basskandy.com I mean that is so stupid. To have every single website built using wix.com blocked by a single wix flash ad is beyond belief I disabled my AdBlockPlus firefox extension and your website loads like it should and I can see *all* the lures and everything now. So Firefox is a great browser after all

Thanks for all the info and help fishing_in_israel.
I've been kicking around the idea of removing ALL the Flash from the site. Like you said ... its simple eye candy ... nothing more.
There are several other custom guys who have their sites through wix.com ... but from what I can tell they use very little or no Flash.

Thanks for all of the info Nigel - and thanks for helping Chris out as well. Plus I picked up some pointers and stuff to consider down the road... If this place ever gets big enough to the point where we need a new board - then hell, maybe Nigel is just the man to help me out. I guess I could pay his consulting fees with Rapalas... Chris this has been a learning experience for me too- I also beleive that the folks over at Wix are also allowing html on their pages too - one thing though you can still enter in all of your keywords for your site when you save you site after editing - so Google will be able to pick up and crawl your site as well.. There are several other custom guys who have their sites through wix.com ... but from what I can tell they use very little or no Flash. That's probably a better way to go - having a minimum of Flash. Another little pointer about 'Flash only' sites -- click through to a page on your site somewhere and now look at the browser's address bar - what address do you see, the page where you are or just the main website address? Kind of make sending links a bit difficult...... Blessings, Nigel
