I PICKED UP A COUPLE OF THE SHAD RAP BLACK BOXES YESTERDAY FROM A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE ..I WAS CLEANING THE LIDS LAST NIGHT AND NOTICED A VARIATION IN THE BOXES ..THE UPPER PART OF THE HANG TAG ON ONE HAD NO LURE ID AT ALL AND THE BOTTOM END OF THE BOX HAD WRITTEN IN WHITE LETTERS ..DEEP RUNNER ..GRAND PLONGUER ..IS THIS A COMMON THING OR AM I JUST LATE FOR THE GAME ? ..HAS ANYBODY ELSE HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF THIS VARIATION .[ OR HAVE ANY ] ..I LOOKED AT MY LURES IN MY 4 BOX DISPLAY AND THEY DONT HAVE THIS ...NEITHER DO MY OTHERS ...SO IM KINDA PUZZELED ..I HAVE'NT HEARD ANYBODY MENTION THIS BEFORE ......RIPPER ...  |

You got me  There have been many variations in boxes and packaging over the years, and since Rapala boxes weren't made with the collector in mind (like all lure mfg's) they are basically made to be thrown away. Especially with the glue either on the ends of the boxes or the sides... So Im not sure if there are any reference points around regarding changes in lure boxes...then again I am no expert - you'll probably get a better answer from someone else.. |

I looked at my 2 SR-5 Black Box lures and they both have a "lure id"
My full set does too...
