People are quick to scream fake. I don't find it surprizing. I used to own a business where I constructed water gardens and raised koi. I had a couple 10 pounders before a great blue heron came in and killed them. He couldn't eat them since they were too big, so he just dragged them out of the pond and left them. Koi live a very long time so it only makes sense that they would continue to grow. There are some Japanese breeders that have some large fish. Neat fish. He could have made a pretty penny selling that fish if he could keep it alive and transport it. Glad to read that the fish is still swimming!

This was in our paper, my mum pointed it out to me 2 or 3 days ago. Its actually a koi carp, it even said in the paper. If you look, it has barbles, goldfish don't have those. Koi carp regularly get big, not this big, but not far off. In actually fact, there are hundreds of similar fish just under that weight all around the country.
