I'm a big fan of Shimano sedona, they are perfect for what I do. I wonder if buying an Okuma stinson maybe a good idea? Anyone tried it? I wonder if they are about the same? Thanks

I am also a big fan of the Shimano Sedona. I don't really care for the new style handles they put on them this year. I use the 2500 FB. If you like the reel, then I wouldn't try a different one. Just my opinion though. I don't think I will ever switch.

Shimano all the way, I used to fish the Sedona until I bought a Symetre.

Personally I am just looking for an excuse to switch all of my reels to Okuma's

What about the Okuma Hardstone The Cabelas exclusive reel. Its nice for the 40 dollars plus they go on sale all the time and you can get them for 30 dollars. I purchased a few for fishing in the canoe. My father in-law has had some for 2 years and for the money I dont think you can get a better reel. I would say its on par with reels cost much more. Its got a water proof drag system.
