Welcome aboard!  Well to my knowledge Rapala never made a Super Shad Rap with a red lip...but then again there are collectors here that collect SSR-14s so they may be the best to ask. Dont recognize the lure underneath it as a Rapala either. They could be knockoffs, but the lip on them looks about right, from what I could see...  |

It's a little hard to see  , but the two in the center sure do look like Rapala Super Shad Raps but I am not too sure if the lip was originally red... It would be cool to find out. Maybe Carsten or Jason would know...? |

Painted lip , or knock off . Maybe like the one on the top right . Looks like a knock off also .
As of today , I haven't even seen a proto SSR 14 with a red lip . Not saying it doesnt exist . Just never seen one .

I have seen some red lip SSR for years on USEbay for a long period. Believe it was in '07 or '08. The seller said sth. like this: "My Grandfather passed away. After collecting many lures I want so sell them. YabaYabaYaba.."
Many lures from this guy had red lips from other brands too. In my opinon -> REPAINT. But the 2nd looks very interesting. |

yes, I agree with Jörg and Jason. I`ve never seen a genuie SSR-14 with a red diving lip too. I believe it`s a repainted one.
But the second SSR-14 on the picture (white/silver perch) seems to bee an original genuie one. A very interesting disontinued lure.

I remember that guy selling these.I must say his "grandfather" must have had a 100+ of these in his tackle box  Like Jason mentioned he avoided e-mails about these.I told him he was full of crap because Rapala never made SSR-14's with red lips. He definitely painted these red  |

i did some looking around thier is a lure company that makes a lure call the SUPER CISCO they are about the same size as the ssr-14 but i have to agree with jason 100% i have NEVER SEEN A SSR-14 WITH A RED LIP.there is three or four of these listed on e-bay germany and the seller has super shad rap in the item description.and i also went to the company web-site and they have about colors out.hope this helps john...

Yeah just got on that site, they have some bizarre stuff. Some of it i would love troll for some cruiser eyes, anything that smacks that is gonna have a bit of a belly on him.....maybe in the near future.
