It's rainy season here in Malaysia again, and this is the best time to go to hunt for my favourite Jungle Perch (a.k.a Sebarau in local). The location is a small stream about half an hour away from where i stay. The water level are high right now due the the rainy season. The jungle perch are famous for their fighting spirit and lure taker. Althout they don't have any teeth, they can easily crush you lure and pull out the steel wire from the lure. Normally we will replace the original trible hook with much stronger 3x to 5x hook. But lately i have change to using Single hook like Owner or Gamakatsu. After spending few hour casting, i was rewarded with 2 small jungle perch. Although it's not big, but never the less is my first jungle perch in this rainy season All the fish had been CNR and hopefully one day i can break my own record of 2.7kg jungle perch caught 2 years ago. my personal best record

The depth of the steam are basically 2 - 3 feet deep in most of the part, but some part of the stream have deep pool which can reach 6 - 8 feet and this is where the monster hiding. One of my friends even have his Owner single hook strigheten only after a few second fighting with these monster.
