Just bought 3 husky jerks 17 cm, still waiting for em to arrive but, are they for real? I never heard of 17 cm husky jerks before. When they arrive I will post a nice picture of em. I got em for 33,78 USD including shipping

Maybe you can buy one from me within the auction for fundraise. in the other topic I'd be happy to participate on that for a good cause.

since they did them 6-8-10-12-14, i would guess there are no HJ-17. 16 or 18 would make more sense to me. and yes, some people measure the CD-26 as 32 or 33, lip included, but they forget to mention ... we are all waiting to see a pic, and put your ruler beside them please.
best, w.

They look like F-18's. I'm sure if you measure them nose2tail they will indeed be 18cm.

I'd be very happy with them bein' floating If i measure em then they are axact 17 cm without the nose and tail ring, just the body. I will try tomorrow, the I will see soon enough if they float or not.

Yah those are F 18's . Not Husky Jerks.

The other obvious giveaway is that HJ's are plastic bodied - would have been cool though.

yes, we have this thing happen here too. some people measure the body and come out at 17 cm for an F18. since rapala is calling them 18, i suggest we stay with that. actually, we should measure some other models to to see if rapala is counting the wire when determining size of lures. strange i never thought of this before - you really always learn something new here ... best, w.
p.s.: they will float!

Nice!!! I love floating lures!! @ fishhooked, I've had wooden husky jerks in the past. So it is not that obvious. altough most of the Husky Jerks nowadays are plastic.

Kees
As you know i always have your back. But a wooden husky jerk? Are you positive it was a husky jerk. Never ever heard of such a thing and up until now i was 100% sure that those didnt exist. Please one of the experts chime in on this one.

Also notice that the diving lips are way too big to be husky jerks. Definately 18's

I know that Husky Jerks and the old Husky 13's get confused quite a bit. The Husky 13's were balsa. Maybe this is what you had? Just my .02. I could be wrong.

I would make a hypothesis that husky jerks would pretty much have to be made out of plastic. Wood floats so I would think it would be hard to make a suspending wooden husky jerk. Making a wooden lure hollow and adding the correct amount of weight would be quite difficult. But then again I may be over thinking it...

Ok that is it! I had a Husky 13, not a husky jerk 13. And this husky did float..
So we can say for sure that these are F-18's
Now the downside of the story, They don't fit in my tacklebox. I have one wrapped in a piece of newspaper to take with me fishing today.
Altough all 3 will be up for trade. one of em I am willing to donate for the rapalanation fund raise tough!
The remaining 2 will be up for trade, no money involved. I am lookin' for Clackin' Crank CNC74 RSD and Clackin' Crank CNC53 OPSD. also lookin' for XR10 BTR and XR10 HP and XR12 HMMD
So if anyone can get on of these I'd be happy to nagotiate a trade

Nice!!! I love floating lures!! @ fishhooked, I've had wooden husky jerks in the past. So it is not that obvious. altough most of the Husky Jerks nowadays are plastic. I would wager to say that there probably was never a wooden Husky Jerk, outside of a prototype maybe. They are one of Rapalas cheapest lures to make and manufacture (along with the RNR) - why would they even bother?
