Local store has several old countdowns. If you could give any insight on any of these it would be appreciated.
CD-4 New in box with papers. It's the 1st Gen. Firetiger Im pretty sure.
CD-4 or 5, not sure which. - They are the silver flouro chartruese, and one of them says (Silver Plated)
He has some CD-5's and CD-7's in the second gen. firetiger with the red on the gills. New in box with papers, are these rare?

Ok well if you found a CD-4 then i would suggest getting it because they dont make them. Sorry not to poke fun at you but that lure does not exist my friend. Secondly the firetiger CD's are not exactly rare but they dont make either of those colors anymore. Guessing one is a clown if its silver plated, may bring $10-$20 depending on buyers.

Sorry, I didn't have them in front of me so I was just guessing at size, I know they're small and they're the silver flouro chart. color. I was gonna pick them up today but didn't have enough $. The 1st gen. firetiger must be a 3 I guess? I don't know, it's very small.
And by the way one of them actually does say Silver Plated AND silver flouro. on the same hangtag. I'll just have to buy them and take some pictures, it's strange. Anyway, I appreciate the help.

hi john, the countdown came out in 1965, with just silver and gold, then blue in 67, then the saltwater cd13 came out in 1967 and was discontinued in 1970, before the countdown it was just the original floater, so if you have 40s 0r 50s lures there floaters

i will post the photo in image gallery topic of all the boxes john. their are a few different boxes , but also the paper work inside, the same lures may come in 2-3 different packages , all depends how bad you collect, i only collect one of every lure thats different in colour unless its also a japan special or slight differences like the perch you said about, some in the collection such as blue there would be 4 all different etc, again you could collect because of the diving vain style or country , it can get endless.

A good way to find out what people are paying for lures right now is just to find them on Ebay and watch them. It's a good learning experience for sure.

Hi Mark.
since B was a very early color, you are right, a complete collection in blue would be maybe 1000 different rapala, considering boxes and paper inside etc. i dont have the money to do that, so i am happy to have just one each, whatever date; but i sure like the older ones best.

Thanks again JMC, I love seeing your name pop up on my threads cause I know Im bout to get schooled! haha Alot of neat information in this thread, all things that I had no idea of before.
Bulldog, I do check Ebay on some lures that I plan on selling. But on Ebay the only info I get is how much they're going for. I like knowing history about lures. I see an old Rapala in a strange color in the shop and I think "I bet that lure has a story" And you guys have been great about sharing your knowledge with me.
