Just purchased a couple of DTFATSS01 on clearance, but have heard that the front SS hooks cause problems when casting. Can anyone confirm? Does anyone envision problems with switching them with the back hooks on a DTFAT03?
Thanks

I have not heard of that, but the new DT colors that came out have a sure set rear hook and a normal treble for the front hook. I would guess the back hook off a DT fat 3 would work fine

I have had the front hook get stuck on the lip a few times, and wrap around the line a little too often when using braid. I haven't messed with any hook modifications, but may try something now that you mention it. Whenever my lure is tangled up in itself, I try to give it a few good twitches to see if it will work itself out so I can continue to reel it in and not waste my cast. With the fat 01, I have actually caught bass while I was twitching and jerking it on the surface, just trying to get it untangled.
There is definitely room for improvement as far as the front hook goes, but all in all I love this lure!! I only first got one last summer, but had tons of success with the Firetiger and the Silver. I got a few more ready for this year and plan on really seeing what this thing can do.

Thanks for the feedback. My concerns stemmed from the fact that the FAT01 comes with #4 hooks while the 03s come with #3s, and I am hoping it doesn't mess up the tuning with both the 01s and 03s. I'll try it on one and see.
