Took my new Orra SX to the swimming pool to test. After throwing a few baits it suddenly started to produce backlashes Everything seemed OK and I adjusted the manual brake for the lighter lure that I was throwing. It still was backlashing Then a thought occurred to me and I opened up the side cover and checked the centrifugal brakes -- they looked OK so I took a tissue and wiped the inside of the brake drum - sure enough there was oil there. No wonder I was getting backlashes Somebody in the factory was over zealous about the amount of oil they put on the bearings After the initial clean and a subsequent one, the reel was performing as it ought to and this was even in windy conditions later on. I actually bought the Orra SX for a single handed two piece rod that I was given by a fellow Israeli member here. He also gave me a Shimano Bantam black Magnum 201 (magnetic brake version) which is OK but doesn't have the same level of finesse that the modern reels have; hence the Orra SX I'm still getting used to a single handed rod and my right forearm muscles are aching a bit from Saturday's practice sessions ;D Thank you Peter for the combo
