I have to say I like the look of the rippin rap. I hope the cost is the same as the Rattlin Rapala but I doubt it. Also the Shad rap RS Colors are nice to see. That line up has need an update. I know I be purchasing a few Clown. Am I the only one that thinks the X rap Prop is just a rip off of the Devils Horse? Totally, but there have been plenty of other dual-prop baits on the market before...as long as the quality is there and the props spin with little effort than it works for me...

Ted Can you confirm that fat raps are still listed? I have this great fear that they will be discontinued. They are still in the catalog; like I mentioned there is not any line that is entirely absent from last years catalog. I can't be positive, but last year Rapala introduced the MXR-11, MXR-15, MXR-17 on the Max Rap. Now it looks like only the MXR-11 & MXR-13 have made the cut. To me, that is a damning indication that the Max Rap has fallen far short of expectations, I'm guessing the price was a major factor. Max Raps are listed as available in not only 11,13, 15, and 17 but also two new sizes 05 & 07 in the European catalog

Hi RapalaNation beings,
I'm new here, just wondering whether these new products are distributed worldwide or just in some regions only. From my observation, some of the previous colours are not available worldwide.

I'm sure many of you got a email from Rapala about Icast. I saw they highlighted the Rippen Rap with a suggested retail of 6.99 all I can say is ouch! I dont think I can pay that when an can get a rattlin rap for 3.50 to 4 dollars or for the same Price pick up a clackin rap in the same style. I guess I will have to wait for the reports from others here and then I suspect pick some up in the bargin bin in a year or two.
I will say the VMC drop shot hooks will be on my list. Should make that style much easier to rig up for a walleye guy like me who's never tried it.

Hey MikeM, that sounds neat... I would like to hear what your buddy says about the lure, do you think you could get a picture of it? I'm sure there's alot of Rapala prototypes out there that never made it into production, or it could have been customized by somebody.

Not to venture off-topic but even the tiny XR-04 I found was kind of expensive, at least 6.00+ retail, from what I observed.

Not any condition, nathanka. Most of all works on a certain condition and have limitations.

This was part of the reason for creating this site - because many years ago I observed the same thing, and sought to find out why. I didn't know what I was getting myself into

What are the best stores you all think to shop for rapala? Besides rapala market of course.

Most lures at bass pro shop have been running form $6-9.00 dollars a piece. The newer lures for 2012 are running that much also. I even saw a brand new one that was long and skinny silver (not sure of its name) for $11.00 and a few others that also ran that high in price. I did find some for like 3.99 that was a bargin i couldn't pass up. I was disappointed that i did not see a set of 3 rapalas there or any rapala sets yet unless they were just out of them. When i go back in the next days I will double check and see.

Today I finally caucht something with the given Rapala Rippin Rap Chrome. The lure is a well balanced rattling lure and is very loud, even under the surface. A perfect lure for when the going gets tuff and the fish won't bite often. With my first cast I ran into this pike of 75 cm and didn't want to give me my lure back. Here's a pic. Thanks for the lure and I will fish it more often during the summertime. Eric
