I recently started fishing again. I was on the break wall at Headlands Beach State Park in Mentor, Ohio and caught my first ever white bass. It wasn't a very big fish (10-11"), but it felt good nonetheless. I used the Rapala Coutdown #7 in silver. I was fishing off the non-harbor side. I felt like sharing. Thank you.

White Bass are fun to catch, the ones around here really like mini fat raps. The silver MFR was doing me right last weekend.

I have heard that before whats the beef with the white bass. They are great for kids and fun on ultra light tackle but when you are trying to catch walleye they are a nuisance. When the run is at it's peak they fill the river by the millions and it is darn near impossible to catch anything else.

We have a blast catching them up at Lake Erie. We often catch them in the 14-16" range too, which is a blast.

We get fish from 8 to 14 inches I have only been fishing for a year or so, so when I started catching them I was stoked!!
