My niece got her first bass ever yesterday!! Quite the Father's Day present for her Dad!!! We took both of my jon boats out, with me, my girl, and Kayla on one boat, and her dad and another friend of ours on the other boat.
I caught one bass, but neither my girl or Kayla had anything, and we were getting close to leaving. I'm glad I decided to try one more spot, because it paid off!!
I caught my bass on a DT FAT-1, so of course Kayla decided she wanted to use that one. The weight of it kind of becomes tiring to the kids after a while, but they can cast those things farther than most anything else. As long as you give them a break after a while, it is a good lure for kids. Casts great and very little chance of snags.
She caught this all by herself, all I did was lift it out of the water!! She was so excited, even when we got off the boat. She was walking around pumping her fist going "Yes, I got one!!"
