If you could only use one Rapala for a year, which type of lure would it be and what pattern. For me, recently I would have to go with the flat rap in the olive muddler pattern. For the way I fish ponds this lure is absolutely killer for bass. Also, seeing some of your collections, I am interested to know how many people can narrow down from hundred or even thousands of lures, to just one for a year.

If I had to choose it would be an X-rap size 08 in yellow perch. The XR looks great in the water it casts a mile and can be fished in a variety of ways.

Can't say that I have used the x-rap very much. I have a couple in yellow perch that I am planning on taking to Canada with me. Hopefully I can catch a couple pike on them.

X-rap for sure, but then the OD color, works also great for perch, pike and walleye here...

I have had lots of luck with Rapalas in yellow perch and perch. I don't have boat so a lure that casts well is a must. At first I thought the lure just looked good to me but the fish really like it. I have a # 10 in silver that I plan on using for Pike.

For pike It would be a SSR14 in Firetiger, and for everything else I would have to pick the original floater in firetiger, just because I mostly fish shallow, murky rivers.

I have heard good things about the firetiger pattern for Pike. I have access to some old SSR in various colors maybe one is in order.

Balsa Shad Rap............ size 7............ silver............ from Finland.
I didn't even have to think about it. The best lure this planet has ever seen (so far).
If I couldn't have a SR-7 Silver, then give me an F-11 in silver. I'll make due with that.

Hard one! I would have to choose between SP-9 Blue Mullet and J-11 BHO. Altough the XR10 HH is very good as well.
Right now the water has warmed up and the plants has grown in it so diving lures wil get snagged right away I will go with the SP-9 cause it is really the only lure that can be used in the water conditions right now. So the SP-9 Blue Mullet it is!

I would have to go with my 100th Anniversary Rapala Wobbler Gold Foil Pattern......caught lots of fish with this one I have three anniversary lures sitting in my tackle box that I have never bothered trying. They look weird with the star pattern on the side.

Great question. Only one I would go with a Gold #5 Fat Rap. Can be used from late spring right through to late fall. Hard to argue with that type of range. You can toss it with ease and it trolls well too.
