I've been making dressed hooks for spinners. here a little report on it: first getting all I need for this then mounting the hook into the twister tail and connect it to the trebble using 30lb mem. free sufix with some superglue I connected the fethers to the hook and the binding it with very strong ron tompson braid and the mounting the squid with some superglue I really got the hang of it so I also build a blue dressed hook, later more on this cause I will make the spinner myself too but have to get supply's first. I do got a nice spinnerblade ready now hope I will catch something with it. last one I made got snag'd on a bicycle in the water on my 3'd cast and I lost it.

The orange one did get me a pike today! not a really big one but a nice fish. great action.
The lures:
Blue has a nice twist but no vibrations. works great in really shallow situations.
Orange makes great vibrations! the added weight does not make it sink too fast because I left a little air-pocket in the head of the squid so it also works great on shallow situations but can be casted very far without having to force it. You can countdown this spinner to the disered depth.

I could not wait untill someone answered so I began finnishing it. I have chosen for the double bladed with red beads. and as I was having good progress I made some more. here is a picture with all of my inline spinners i build from scratch so far. If anyone likes to give one a swim, I'd be happy to custom build you one.

they all work great!! the double bladed blue one had a pike following it. during spawn this is very special, most of the time during spawn they are not interested.
The red rubber tail is magnificent! very slow retreat possible, even in shallow situations!!!

The double bladed ones look sweet and I can imagine its a lot less expensive to make these than buy them already made, not to mention it would feel awesome to catch a fish on a bait you made. I need to learn how to do this with large hooks/spinners for muskies. it would beat having to spend $20 on one at the store

Just a thought: Wouldn't it be a good idea to place a split ring before the treble in case the hook needs replacing sometime in the future?

I don't like the gap that will occure with a splitring.. And if replacement is needed I will cutt the axel and build it again from scratch.

I've been making in-line spinnerbaits for years for muskie fishing. I really like the idea of using the shrink wrap. I going to have to try that! I've also never placed a bead between the clevis' when using double blades. Thanks for the ideas.

Dressed hook: Mounted a twistertail with a bracket I made myself Next step, putting on the winding wire Time to play the barber on some bucktail Put some dark hairs on the hook first and tighten it with the wire Then adding some silver wire detail Then add some purple hair, mounted the other way around and tighten it firmly! Wrap around the hairs and tighten again. (from here I had to use flash cause the sun has set) Every time I tighten the wire I use a drop of super glue. Here is a little detail, I made an ring on the bracket to have the opportunity to ad a second hook.

[/quote] I will post pics in this thread of anything that bites on it. I can't wait to get it buddy . I have a nice lake right by my house with a real nice Smallmouth population as well as lake just a half an hour a way with Pike and Muskie living in it. Both have a real good population of larger Rainbows and one has Brownies as well. I should have pics of something in no time I'm sure
