hi all.
i guess most of you have seen one of these by now.
it seems to be a quite new line, rapala is doing two colors on one lure; mostly this is with HJ, but there are F and SR, e.g. SR9 B/BB and S/PK.
together with Matt i was wondering how this color variations could be best described.
we call it double colors now, but i would like to have a better name; we were thinking about over-color, since this actually is what they do; they take a say HJ12 G and put the RT pattern over this, or they take a CLN and put RT over that.
these are named accordingly G/RT (not to be confused with GRT) and CLN/RT.
i was also thinking of something like two-in-one-color. any suggestions welcome.
so far there is two of us collecting these; Jason doesnt count cause he is collecting ALL rapala, but i guess there are more out there; we would like to know about you, cause this could help to get together all colors made a little easier.
and we also need a list of colors and models that have been done like this.
@ Ted: it might be even a good idea to have a separate thread only for these - just a thought ...
best, wolfgang

I am pretty sure that it is an overseas color thing. I have not seen nor heard of them doing this in the US.

One of the things that really winds me up about rapala is how hard some of there lures are to source. The team esko lures are meant to be for the European market yet they are as rare as rocking horse s**t here in the UK.

Oh so that's what I've found! That last picture is a muddler pattern over the original gold foil finish and I have just recently acquired one for myself. If anyone is interested, and since I am not into collecting, it only makes sense that I sell it to someone who is because I would otherwise just fish it. It is a very beautiful finish though and I'm sure the walleye would love it.
