At times it can't hurt to grovel - sees as that I haven't emailed the folks at Rapala in awhile, I figured I would hit them up to see if I could trouble them for some 2012 lures to preview. So here are a few: X-Rap Prop 12 in Yellow Perch, X-Rap Pop 7 in Chart Ghost Rippin Raps in sizes 05(Silver Blue), 06(Chrome), and 07(Yellow Perch) The new UL series Ultralight Minnow 04, Ultralight Minnow 06, Ultralight Shad 06 The bad news is this is all they sent me But the good news is that I do not plan on reviewing ALL of them - that job will fall on YOUR shoulders...details to come...

And if anyone would like to be considered for receiving one of these lures (before the rest of the world gets them), you must be willing to provide a well-written review of the lure you will receive. Frankly, I could use some material for my blog and I haven't had time to write anything in forever, LOL. Which would also include pictures of the lure 'in action', and hopefully with fish on the end of it as well. If anyone is interested, merely post in this thread - instead of opening this up to everyone, just the ones that make the effort to participate and contribute...

That smallest rippin rap is one of the few new lures I am considering buying, and that would be based on the price. IMO $4 would be a good price for it, considering its common to find rattlin rapalas from $2-$4. Most likely i will just have to wait and see which ones hit the sale bin and then try those ones out

I am most looking forward to using the X-Rap Prop personally, although this is not all of the new 2012 lineup, unfortunately...

All, just for clarification purposes, anyone interested in fishing a lure and doing a review - the lures assigned out will be randomly to a randomly chosen person. But the lure is yours to keep once you're done with it. Also, unless I can get more, I am going to try the X-Rap Prop this weekend that is if it ever stops raining around here

I'm also curious about the X-Rap Pop and X-Rap Prop.
Just like fireman1979, I would also like to try them in the Netherlands and write a review about it.

HEY THERE!!! If you have any left for someone to try out, I would love to try any of them out here in Colorado! I fish the rivers, lakes, reservoirs from out in the plains to the mountains! Would try and give you an accurate review of most conditions and hopefully some pix of some fish with that lure!
Thanx

I would love to give this a try!! The only worry I have is if I were to end up with the rippin rap, I feel like I may not be able to give the best review possible. I have never had any success on any lipless crankbaits, and little experience even using them at all. Any of the others though, I feel like I could provide a decent review for, and probably some video as well!!!

Ted, I would be interested in the review, also... Do lots of trolling husky jerk-6's & 8's in brackish water in eastern N.C. Multiple species here and will get some good pics... Lots of new brush piles & fallen trees after Irene came through... The bite is on here... Big fish eat little fish... Driving home happy...

Those UL minnows look killers for the small inshore fish around the reefs, especially the Ultralight Minnow 04. Here's a photo of a nice sized blue runner that I caught on a CD-1:

So hold on a second - you folks in Finland have these models already? I think it's folly to call something 'trash' if you haven't caught anything on them yet..if that's the case then I can certainly pass your name up if it comes up.

Would love to try out a new Rapala and send you a report on it. My 10 year old son will be right along my side as we try it out. I think he might even enjoy fishing more than I do.

Ted, I would love to test the x-rap prop. I really like the skitter prop, and I believe that two props and a slightly larger body will be better!!

Also, forgot to ask, is the rippin rap 5 body the same lenght as the rattlin rap 5. I'm guessing the 5 stands for 5cm as in the rattlin. How does the body of one compares to the other?
