Hi guys,
Lately I have ran into a problem according the Rapala Sureset trebles. I find difficulty on onhooking em especially when they are hooked deep inside the mouth of the fish. I had one fish dying on me allready because of unhooking complications and another pike having serious injury because of it. My goal during fishing is to do as little harm to the fish as I possibly can and having these problems, that occure only when using sureset, is making me feel bad about using these nasty hooks.
I am planning on replacing all the Sureset hooks for regular treble hooks.
Any of you guys got this same problem?

I try to pinch the barbs on the longest part of the treble, and leave the other two points as is.

Ditch them kees, you shouldn't be using any kind of offset hook if your serious about catch & release.

I am not a fan of them, either!!! I had two big largemouth die from deep hooking while using them... I replace them on every bait that I purchase that feature them... Those big bass are hard to come by & I like releasing them alive as much as a like catching them... They may "hook-up" a higher percentage of fish statistically, according to the Rapala Army Pro-Staffers, (Canadas' website) but I'll take my chances on the standard treble-hook... Plus it seems as if the lures that feature the SureSets are more expensive...

You run a risk of deep-hooking fish no matter what type of hooks you use, but those SureSets do it a lot more in my experience...
