I hope I'm starting this thread in the right section.

Has anyone noticed that it seems like the Clackin Rap 08 is being phased out already at the stores?
The Bass Pro Shop closest to me slashed their price to $5.77, and removed the shelf hangers as they disappeared.
Is it because of the Clackin Crank due out in 2011?

I don't think so. It's possible they just aren't selling well, or they are just making room for the new sizes coming out in 2011, the CNR07 and CNR09 - maybe the 08 will get disc'd, who knows.

I thought the 08 was always a little large to begin with, maybe the 07 fits the bill better, and for those targeting bigger fish are going to roll with the 09. I have the 09 size that Rapala sent me, and it is a big lure.

It's all about timing lol - I always check Bass Pro and Cabelas at least once a day - sometimes they will have insane deals on Rapalas so it pays to be dilligent!

Also a great resource is www.overstockbait.com - if you order from them tell them RapalaNation sent you!

Thanks Ted, I just checked out that webpage, but they don't have a very large selection of lures. Do you know by chance where I can get some x-rap shad sureset and shallow shad sureset at a reasonable price?
I also check Cabelas, Bass Pro, Gander, etc 2 or 3 timesa week....... that's how I got most of my lures.

True, they dont have the biggest selection, but when I am getting lures for customs their prices can't be beat. SureSets in particular are hard to find on clearance-at least in all of the most desirable colors.

It is rare that you will find those lures anywhere under 7.49 anywhere though, but good luck...
