Well so much for the fishing plans All the spots I went to this morning had a 1/4 inch of ice already I'll have to try these in our local river, which I'm not fond of due to all the snags.

yeah, it was fricken cold here this morning. guess i will be needing that ice saw to get to my minnows since i have been too busy to go trapping the last few days this time of year sucks for trapping minnows, ice can get too thick overnight to allow the trap to break though from below and you lose traps, but the ice isnt thick enough to trust walking on. was checking out ice saws the other day and am thinking about getting one, making larger holes with an auger doesnt go so well, but they claim the saws cut easy, and only weigh a few pounds to carry out, so maybe we'll see. bacon

Jeff if you get one let me know how they work. Did you guys get rain or snow today? We got a mixture of the 2 the salt trucks were going down the highway this morning so I imagine the roads should be a treat to drive in today

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Clackin Cranks since the previews have been leaking out months ago. I put a bunch of models and colors on my Christmas list to make the process easier for my wife, but I can't find any stores locally that are selling them yet, and I live close to a Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, Gander Mountain, and Dick's. So, I thought I would direct my wife to a website or two to get them ordered, but most of the websites that have them for sale are sold out of the colors and sizes I'm coveting (with in stock dates listed not in time for Christmas). Where are you guys having luck getting them right now?

Hey, I was at Bass Pro Shops yesterday on Thanksgiving (seems I'm there a lot during the holiday season, my daughter loves the kids area with the crafts and displays, and I get to peruse the tackle), and they finally had some Clackin Cranks! Kind of disappointing, they were carrying only about 5 of the colors, and only one of the ones I was looking for, but I was able to scratch the size 74 in Bleeding Olive off my wish list. Still on the hunt for Black/Silver and Blue/Silver. On a side note, they weren't inexpensive, but at $10 and change they were selling for a little less than the magazine advertised prices.

Yeah, my oldest daughter loves it. I have to get my BassPro shopping when I can, the closest one to me is about a 3 hour drive. I picked up a few myself that I'll have to try out when I get home. I'm out of town for the holiday at the moment.

I finally got all of the remaining CNC-74 colors around early December - by then it was too late to try them out on my lake as it had frozen over. However I cannot wait to troll these suckers in March after ice out!

Have you caught anything on the clackin' minnows, i read somewhere about someone catching on the CNCs, but not on the CNMs, and i can't remember if it was you or not? Thats strange if its true, i couldn't imagine why the fish would love 1 lure, but ignore another one that is almost exactly the same, just with a different profile.

Tom, I've noticed that pike will ignore some lures when other lures would make em jump out of the water for it. Just crazy how much the shape of the lure can make em bite or not.
