those striped fethers on that turkey could be very nice on a inline spinner or streamer for pike!

I got one decent Texas Hill Country buck last year. Not sure if there will be any good ones this year since we had almost no rain during their growing season. Either way, the season opens up November 5th.

Here is a deer I got last year during our late bow season. Very nice deer, and I had a question for you. I received a custom lure with my raptacular winnings, is that one of your customs? I may be interested in purchasing a custom from you, also do you have an ebay link?

those striped fethers on that turkey could be very nice on a inline spinner or streamer for pike! The striped feathers are very stiff though, I could get you some if you want some though. I'm not sure if I have any at the moment I would have to look. If not I should have some next spring

walleye, hereby I am challenging you to switch from compound to traditional longbow... It is more pure shooting with longbow. Here in holland we say, If you miss while using a compound, you are retarted or blind

Jerkbait, here in the Netherlands we dont hunt with it, we just shoot targets cause it is prohibited to hunt for deer.
I stopped shooting long ago like I also quit fishing for carp, sold everything. I have too many hobby's I am planning on selling my collection of lures and keep just a few for fishing. Guitar playing is and will stay my main hobby.

Back to top Here is my first buck killed w/ homemade selfbow, wood arrows and such 3-4 years ago. For exact info my bow is made of Hickory with rattlesnake skins hide glued on for camo. Homemade string of artificial sinew with eaver fur silencers I braintanned. The bow is recurved with mink fur to prevent string slap. The arrows are Laminated Birch self nocked w/ Osage inserts, turkey wing feathers attached with spiraled deer tendon and hide glue. Points are Zwickey 125gr. Shot was well into the rut at a distance of 14 yards while hitting a corn pile. Shot through heart, ran about 7-8 seconds and piled up. I was and am still very happy

Here in holland we say, If you miss while using a compound, you are retarted or blind Well.....I'm guessing that since you say you have to be retarded or blind to miss with a compound, you haven't experienced a little thing called "buck fever". Its all easy when target shooting. Put yourself in a hunting situation and everything is completely different. I have a recurve bow that I made and I can shoot very well with it. When I am hunting, I sit in trees that give me a lot of cover which means there is not much room to move around. With my recurve, I would be hitting branches while drawing my bow back and therefore scaring everything in the woods away.

I love to hunt most critters - especially deer! Here is a photo of my son with his first deer. Shot during youth season this year, he is 7.5 years old, shot it at 93 yards and it field dressed at 160 lbs! I will post pics of this years bow buck if and when it happens!

By the way - nice seeing all of the deer pictures - as far as I am concerned - they are all nice! Even the ones taken with non-primative weapons! Kees - If I played a guitar in the woods - deer would fall over from the torture I produce with it! Best of luck to all!

Make us proud here!!! As an angler, I always see those fat gobblers & racked-bucks, but as soon as I tote a gun or the season opens, disappearing act all of a sudden!!! I'll just stick to the rod & reel... Spent a bunch of money on turkey hunting shit last year because I was seeing those fuckers every trip!!! Thought I could just roll-up & blast one... Needless to say, it's alot harder than they make it look on T.V... I could have spent that money on more Rapalas, that's what I think every time I open the shed & see that fucking decoy hen... Good luck, John... I hope you packed a rod & reel with a Rapala first-aid kit, just in case...
