actually, i need to amend that a little, there was one in firetiger colors, but shad, and one in hot mustand colors, but shad. now that i look again, im not sure if this one has the orange colors, so it might be hot mustard shad, either way, not an official color code that i know of on there. there was also a green, blue, gold, and a shad pattern like this, the shad was very, very similar to the SD pattern on the normal ristos, but its not quite right either, if you put them side by side. bacon

i have one looking similar, and also a SR9 in this color; these are more yellow though, and the code is HSD for hot shad, and some people call it a citrus shad. according to this, this one should be something like hot green shad.
best, wolfgang
p.s.: wasnt the dark shad called SSD?

well, sorry for that Jason.
actually, when checking the HSD again, i think the one shown in pic on top of this post is not HSD, it is fire shad, it has too much green for HSD; but then again, i am not sure if this is an "official" color code, and also, i dont know if the CSD is the same color as the fire shad. it seems they have been making quite a few similar looking ristos, i just dont know if this is color variations of the same color, or all different colors.
it would be nice to have all of these side by side and take one pic, cause pictures of the same rapala taken by different people with different cameras on different background and light conditions may result in slightly different color.
best, w.

I wasn't trying to call you out Jason, I had one sitting under my desk and it had the HSD sticker on the back. BUT, this one came in the newer blue Risto boxes so maybe it is a newer version of the old CSD???

well, i know there is a RFR-4 CSD, and some call it citrus shad, and some charteuse shad, but i think it is a different color to the one shown here. has anybody else heard about fire shad, cause to me a green one doesnt make sense to be called fire shad, i think, it should be red or orange then. and i just hope it is no RR-7 with the CSD label on it ...

yeah, the one that "invented" the fire shad, mustard shad, ect was me, like i said in the other post, not official colors, just what i named them based on the patterning to keep them straight in my mind. did i hope it would kinda catch on, sure. did i think that if a color code emerged that i might have actually got it right? that was the hope. but it was strictly unofficial. but to clear the air, it was i that 'invented' this one, as for the rest of the Inventing, im out.

It's all good Bacon! My friends have all kinds of "nicknames" for Rapalas that actually have established color codes???
Looking over different images - Jason's collection has a CSD that is like the photo that started this thread. Funny how it can be called an HSD - when the new Helsinki Shad is coded HSD.
Nice looking Risto Rap - Fireman!

This one won't even see the outside of the box it's sealed in! Now - if I find one out of the box and slightly used - that's another story!
