Original F11, Black & Silver (actually bought several all at once), 20+ years ago, fished that model almost exclusively for largemouth on a boys only fishing trip to Montello, WI.

I know the last post to this thread was over 6 months ago, but I'm new on this forum and am pretty much getting around to reading a lot of this stuff! My first one was circa 1966 (I was 16 at the time) and I bought it at a local Western Auto store in my section of northcentral Pennsylvania. It was an F-7 in silver with the black back. It was the first Rapala I had ever seen, let alone the first time I ever heard of Rapala! I was amazed at the effectiveness of this lure, and that set the direction of my fishing for the next 46 years!!!! To me, there are only two types of lures......there are Rapalas; and there is everything else! Mike

My first Rapala was a J-7 in perch. It now belongs to one of my nephews, along with dozens of other lures I'be passed down over the past few years. Gotta keep the tradition going, that way in 20 years hopefully they will be sharing the same kind of story.
