Does anyone put scents on their plastics? Which do you think works best?
I have been playing around with a few scents and have come up with a homemade one that has worked recently.

I use those "gravy" scents you can find at walmart and elsewhere. The garlic, shad and crayfish. All I know is they don't hurt, I catch fish!

i once used my wifes food processor to make a paste out of nightcrawlers, i made 4 batches to use for bait in my minnow traps, i used worms, worms with cornmeal, worms and cornmeal and olive oil, and worms with olive oil. i froze half of each to try frozen cubes as a time release method. long story short, i didnt catch a single minnow with my concoctions. cheerios still my best minnow catching bait. bacon ps, i had to buy the wife a new food prossesor, but now i have my very own for dicing up worms that dont really work for attracting fish. LOL

The main recipe I made is a secret, but the base of it is fish oil from the supplement pills.

I save the liquid from the gulp alive and put other plastics in it. Another trick for those of you that make your own wooden baits is to leave a portion unfinished and allow the wood to soak in some scent liquid. When offshore fishing we will use menhaden oil and soak unpainted tuna plugs before trolling them.

I've used Fish Formula, Dr. Juice, WD-40, Preparation-H and Smelly Jelly. Now I am mostly using Gulp! scents - I pour off the excess into cheap spray bottle. Also follow omigosh lead and soak other "stuff" in it. Powerbait juice works ok too - and occasionally will still sneak out old tube of Prep-H to bring leeches alive!

Yep - just like you were going to lubricate a pair of pliers! LOL No kidding either - it worked! The old stuff is the best - some old timer told me about it!
