Mike Iaconelli DTs

So, in typical Rapala fashion, they are promoting a new line of colors that probably won't be available to the public until after fishing season. I recently read in their email newsletter that I subscribe to that professional bass angler Mike Iaconelli is now a member of their sponsored staff. Then, in my most recent issue of Bassmaster magazine I see a full page ad featuring "Ike" and the 8 new special run DT color models "developed" by Mike I. personally.
What a tease!
How long until anyone will see them for sale???
Am I alone on this? Or, have others of you seen what I'm talking about?

huh, i had not heard about this yet, will be intresting to see how this pans out. are they just going to add 10 new colors, or is this really going to be a special run of lures and colors. we will see, but i think your right, they are going to drag this out well into fishing season, maybe by the classic they will have them out in the wild.

I'm sure they will be displaying these at the Classic - as well as showing up on the shelves - or they are probably already there - I just haven't been out of the house for a while!!!

What would be cool would be to track IKE down and have him autograph 5 sets of all 10
then:
Put one set in the collection
Give a set or two to close friends
Then just let the other two sets "age" in a dark closet for a spell!

Well, if anyone sees them on the shelves already, please let me know where. I'm not into the investment aspect of Rapalas like many here, I just buy them mostly to use, but I do collect a little here and there, just for myself, of things I find interesting. I will be buying a complete set of these as soon as I can find them to save along with the full page ad of "Ike" promoting them. Have met Mike Iaconelli several times at fishing shows, have listened to him speak during seminars, and have been able to get his autograph.

Here are the 8 new colors in the "Ikes' Custom Ink" collection (with my attempt to describe the color or similarity to current colors):
- MARDI GRAS (dark green craw)
- DEMON (Red/Orange Crawdad)
- OLD SCHOOL (Gold w/black dot, pink chin)
- DISCO SHAD (Regal Shad w/black dot)
- SMASH (Bleeding Olive Shiner, no blood, pink chin)
- CARIBBEAN SHAD (Parrot, no black dot)
- PENGUIN (Pearl Gray Shiner w/black dot, pink chin)
- BLUE BACK HERRING (not sure on this one)

I have to admint, I was a little disappointed in the colors. I expected something a little more "out there" from Ike. I'll probably end up getting some anyway!
