So this weekend I was at home with nothing to do and a craving for fishing but I only had half an hour to spare. I knew it would take at least that long to get to the nearest of my favorite pike fishing holes so I decided to grab the most minimal gear and head out across the street to a trout pond to try my luck there. Here are the results on a jigging shad rap.

Sweet!! I must fish soon. The weather here was mild and the ice fishing was spotty at best. Pretty cool to have fishing spot so close!!

Yeah it is nice, I only wish it were stocked with Pike and perch instead. It would be more fun in my opinion and the pond itself is shallow and weedy with a very muddy bottom and gets very warm in the summer and so it would be far better for pike than trout. The trout cant spawn there and so they are continually stocking and re-stocking but I am certain that the pike would only need to be introduced once and they would take the place over.
