Ok well here's the deal!

Each month I will be selecting one member at random with at least 10 or more posts on the site. And, that lucky winner maybe receive one, two, three, or MORE 3 random Rapalas! I can't promise exactly what is going to be sent, but hell they are all free!

What's the catch? There isn't one really, you just need to be an active member on our site, meaning you will have to at have at least posted once during the current calendar year, and you need to have at least TEN POSTS on the boards to qualify. I will announce the winner in this thread, and an email will be sent to that winner. If I don't hear back within a week, I'll pull someone else's name. For you international folk, keep in mind that shipping isn't cheap, so I'll be sending it the cheapest (and probably slowest) way possible.

I reserve the right the change the rules as we go along, depending how well this goes. I am really just trying to encourage some more activity around here, especially this time of year, when it's spring and it has a tendency to get a little quiet.

The only thing I ask the winner is to tell their friends about the site, that is all. And also post pics of the fish you catch on your Rapalas!

1) I am kind of glad the first winner wasn't some with only 1 post -

Free Rapalas!?! Now you have my attention! I fall on the side of the crazies that fish with my Rapalas. In about 2hrs. of reading posts I've already learned a lot about these great lures. I already spend a small fortune each year on Rapalas, if I start hanging them on the wall, I'm really in trouble!

i would not worry too much about the april rapala.

some time ago (during winter 2007/8) i sent out a pack to Jukka.
it took more than 3 weeks (from GERMANY to FINLAND, which is just about 1500 miles).
i was wondering if they use reindeer for distributing the mail ...

dont ask me what they use when there is no snow ... LOL

And for the record, I think I am going to modify this contest so you must have a minimum of 10 posts on the boards.

I think it will better reward those who haven't just made one post a couple of years ago and never returned; I think it's more fair to those that have kind of stuck around and made more of a contribution on the site.

I guess I should have thought of this before I announced this months winner

I've decided this month (and moving forward) to change the rules a bit; the original rules stated that you had to have at least one post on the site to be eligible.


Well, in light of the fact we've had many members simply make one post and then disappear, it's not really fair to those who contribute on a regular basis. We have close to 400 members now, however we do have a considerable percentage that have registered and never posted at all.

That's fine if you're not really the posting type, you are more than welcome to read the boards and not post, if that's your style.

So starting with June 2009, you must have at least 10 POSTS on the site in order to be eligible, I don't think that is too much to ask.

My main goal for doing this is to try to encourage more interaction on the site, and to build more of a community. Ten posts really isn't a lot to ask, after all, posting is free!

In return, you make yourself eligible to receive from 3-5 FREE RAPALA LURES - now who else is giving away free stuff in this cruddy economy?
