Well I guess this is kinda dead...  I got to thinking that it would be a good idea to have this, and other ongoing contests, listed in some kind of text box or 'poll' box/frame in the upper part of the home page so that everybody can see it immediately that they enter the website. At the moment the contests' pages are buried in amongst a lot of other stuff and are really quite hard to find. Us creatures of convenience find it difficult to make the effort to go looking for stuff - we tend to give up too easily. So Ted (when you get back from your well deserved holiday) how about putting the ongoing contests in a real prominent position on the home page?   Nigel |

Nigel Nigel, That's a good idea, and I guess it's going to be tough for me to come up with a happy medium for everything. On one side I don't want the home page to get too cluttered, but on the flip side, there is a lot of info and sponsor links that I made a commitment to in order to remain visible on the home page. I dont want to create a page where folks need to scroll down forever, but it is starting to get that way, lol. Maybe I need to modify the layout so I have the sponsor ads alongside the homepage, along with some other links...  |

Perhaps the best way would be to have a 'NavBar' on the right which could contain the Sponsors' ads and then they could be on every page instead of just the 'front page' -- they would be getting more exposure this way -- that way you could free up a ton of space for important stuff (not that the Sponsors aren't important but I'm sure you know what I mean). The only downside would be less 'real estate' for the main message pane -- you would have to somehow get the photo resizing script working properly or enforce a maximum pic size  |
