...just for the hell of it... ;D Seems like a long ways away for the next lure giveaway so here's my idea. We all know those clever little slogans Rapala comes up with for their lures...well, lets come up with our own. Ideally, pick a short slogan and try to post a pic of the lure its in reference too (makes it more releveant) here's an example of what I'm talking about:  We may do this for a particular model, or even a specific pattern. There is definitely more than enough to choose from. General Rules:[/b] [/ul] This slogan contest for this month is for: the Minnow Rap!
You can use this picture, or upload another Minnow Rap picture, and caption that one. |

We should do something for a specific model, this time for the Minnow Rap...I need ideas people... best one gets some good stuff!

i would suggest to have a custom paint contest, but there are a couple of ringers around here that have an unfair advantage.
so, maybe a fishing contest would be more in order.
1st idea
one thing we always do when fishing for fun agianst ourselves(in small groups of friends or family together) is everyone puts in $3, $1 each for first, biggest, and most fish caught. maybe every month we randomly pick a rap model, and its ON!. first pic posted caught on that model, then biggest, and most, maybe like a 1st,2nd, 3rd for rapcash or other prizes.
2nd idea
pick a model, or a size, or even just a color code out of a hat and then he who catches as many different species of fish wins.
other ideas,
there could be any kind of mixture of above ideas, or side bet catagories like best catch with a special lure, or best background in a picture of the fish, ect.
oh, another idea just came to me
3rd idea,
how about something like a final 4 bracket. stick with me on this one, it might have to start earlier in the season just to give everyone enough time. everyone is put in a bracket against another member of Rapalanation. take a week or two and best fish wins, if no post at all in the amount of time, like some of our no post lurkers, auto DQ. figure after a month there would only be maybe a dozen or so of us left, at least now, maybe as we grown this could take a few months. then its just a simple sweet 16 breakdown. head to head 'photo' fishing for x number of days, then assign winners and losers, we can all be the judges, and the next bracket is set. now that im typing this, its seeming more and more complicated, but i really dont think it would be that bad. any of you guys that already do fantasy leagues and crap would be able to though this together in nothing flat.
well, i dont know, maybe there all crappy ideas, i cant wait to see what everyone else has to say about there ideas.
i will say that if youre the monthly raptastic winner and you get a PILE of free lures, that would be pretty cool, but maybe you only get a small pile of lures, and that would be pretty cool, and another small pile could be put into a contest like ted seggested, more chances to win to more people, i think that would be pretty fricken cool too.

oop, guess i should have read more closely, i thought you were asking for ideas for contests, my mistake.
however, i do like the idea of re-uping the rapala slogens. they have had some pretty good ones, but we might be able to do better, or at least unedited versions.
i will have to see what kind of funny slogen i can come up with

I don't have the skills or wit for a slogan but I do really like Bacon's tourney amongst members, where best picture of a fish over a certain time frame moves onto meet the next opponent.

That's pretty good, although I thing we should leave 'God' out of it (you know how things are with politics & religion ) Maybe if it were slightly modified to Fish like music, but they love Rap!

ahhh, now that i see that, im not so sure anymore, kinda need the stretch shad rap thought in order for that to work. i still like my first try better, but i think i like Muskiehunters best, and casey10's was good too, IMO
