new to site. new to rapala lures. name is bill. live in austin, texas. i fish lakes georgetown and belton, and palacios on the gulf coast. g-town is notorious for lousy fishing. real lousy. caught only 4 or 5 this year. but saturday i was at academy, the big outdoors store, looking for trailer tires. salesman started talking g-town and told me to by this lure: rapala baby bass dt6. i thought it was pricey, but bit. caught 3 sunday. 3 more monday. today only 1, but i had to leave early. wow! went to academy today and got another baby bass for the wife, plus a baby bass in a segmented style...maybe jsr 5? anybody know how far it dives? gonna try it thursday at belton... i have a myspace page where you can hear 10 of my tunes for a forthcoming album, plus boat and dog pics, etc. man, am i glad i discovered a lure that works! myspace-bill frain music thanks guys and gals!

Hello, Time for an introduction...
My name is Chris Millership, I live in South Wales in the UK. Hence the name Pysgota which means fish in Welsh.
I fish mainly for Salmon and Sea trout on the spate rivers of Wales mainly the Teifi and Towy, both fantastic rivers.
My weapon of choice when conditions are right is the Rapala Countdown RCL, SB, V, SFC.
I have recently started in earnest to collect coundowns in CD07, CD09, at the moment my collection is small but already growing since I joined this site. Yay..javascript:add("%20:-/")
I am tring to keep one of each colour and size, new in box for my collection, I am also trying to source dealer boxes for the silver plated lures.
Some of you may know me as nitromorse2000 on ebay, I know i have purchased some lures off some of you guys before.
Anyway, enough for now, I look forward to getting to know some like-minded fans of Rapala through this site. Hopefully adding to my collection along the way.
Cheers Tight Lines Chrisjavascript:add("%20:-/")

Indeed, with a collection like yours, it would seem to be a sound investment for the future. I do like the silver plated lures, they seem to work really well, I just find it really hard to resist opening the box to actually use the lure..(need like 10 of each so I can keep some for use and some for collecting, Lol) The red colwn is a fave for coloured water, but is getting so rare now.. Which rivers do you fish?

Hello, I have really enjoyed reading many of the posts over the past few days and finally decided to register. I wish I had found this site years ago. Neat stuff!! I am from North Carolina and enjoy fishing the saltwater coast as well as the mountain streams. I make annual migrations to Minnesota to go after Muskie and Walleye. If all goes well I will be retiring in early 2012 and will be spending much more time in Mn. I collect fishing stuff, meaning that I do not go exclusively after lures, rods, and reels. I focus on salesmans samples, lure boards, signs, banners, stickers, keychains, hats, etc... I have lures, rods and reels in my collection but they are not my primary targets. I enjoy buying, selling, trading, and using fishing stuff whenever I can. The owner of a local tackle shop refers to me as a "Rapala guy" so I guess that indicates that my favorite lures are of course Rapalas! Thanks for the opportunity to tap into the wealth of knowledge on this site! I've already learned things about my own collection. Rick

Hi yall! The name's Rick aka way2slickrick, just signed up. Looking forward to do a little fish chatting or any chatting at that. I'm a saltwater angler, but am getting into the freshwater scence slowly but surely. I work full time as a plant manager but at this moment I am officially a full time college student as of next coming Tuesday. So I will be currently looking for a part time job, HOPEFULLY at Academy, so if anyone "knows" anyone at a Academy location in the Pasadena, Texas or surrounding area hook a brother up and I'll do the same if you ever visit the store. Anywho, I love to go fishing, working on my hooptie, fishing and more fishing. Oh and just to let yall know I really love bacon.

Hello, everyone. My name is Ben and I'm from Virginia. I'm married with two beautiful daughters, one just turned 3 the other turned 1 in June. I fished a lot when I was a teenager, almost always used live bait. I just returned to fishing a few months ago, after a 15 year break from it. My 3 year old was the one that got me started again, she saw a Barbie rod and reel set that she wanted and she wanted me to take her fishing. So I figured if I'm taking her fishing I might as well throw a hook in the water too, and so I got the fishing bug again. Still a little new to hard baits, I used to use live almost all the time. I absolutely love Rapalas and I always have.

Your story sounds a bit like mine as well, I used to fish a ton before I had kids, and after the first one was born - well, it kinda died away. Then when the 2nd was born it was all over, my girls are 2 years apart, just like yours. But it does get better once they become older and more manageable, mine are 7 & 5 now and I am at the point of being able to go out at least once a week, which is the most I have ever fished in my entire life. Welcome to the site & feel free to ask any questions!

Hey yall just joined and wanted to introduce myself, well I'm Dan almost 17 years old. Rapala lures are the only crankbaits I fish with (with the exception of a couple home made cranks) since I was introduced to them back 5 years ago. I primarily fish for largemouth but I do go for some catfish occasionally I live in central Florida, lived here most all my life, and I found this site from a google search actually.

My sincere apologies if I upset anyone....and thanks for the warm welcome... My intentions were to return today and introduce myself because I was working late last night getting the post up on this site and a few others. I can assure you I am not a fly-by nighter and have every intention of offering more great products to the members of RapalaNation. Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of time to join in on all the conversations, but certainly will when I feel I can help someone. However, it certainly won't be in the manner of fishfingers007 and Tom (above). I have far more respect for the site than that and I certainly wouldn't make a comment like theirs about or to someone I do not know yet. As a way of introduction, My name is Bill Dee and I own S.O.B. Fishing Products and have for the past 15 years. We manufacture true Custom built spinnerbaits and buzzbaits as well as a few other products. We have always treated our customers with the utmost respect and cordiality. I would welcome any of the RapalaNation members to visit our site and see if there is anything we can help them with. I have done most of my business on-line and through websites such as RapalaNation. I just recently found this website and certainly hoped it was going to be a lot better that a lot of the others out there where people jump to conclusions and hide behind a computer persona to bad mouth people.
