I just now see you have caught on that F-9 Mullet you got from me!! Oh I sure did!!! I didn't get anything huge, but within my first hour and a half using it, I caught 4 fish, all different species. I caught the pickerel in the picture, as well as a largemouth bass, a perch and a bluegill. Apparently it is a good multi-species lure!!!

I got a few more today!! I am far from experienced with the Skitter Walk, but had some moderate success with it today. I managed to catch 2 bass with it, and had 3 or 4 others that hit, but either missed it, or got off on the retrieve. I love all topwater fishing, so getting a little walk the dog confidence is definitely a plus!! I also managed to get my first ever fish on a Flat Rap!! 88. FLR-8 Clown 89. SW-8 Black Chartreuse Head 90. SW-8 Baby Bass

I love this topic! Nice fish there mate! Yes, I'm also curious about your new Rapalas.... And loving the SW BB, I just caught a lot of perch on the shad version of the skitterwalk, great lure!

I have really started liking the Skitter Walk. This whole exercise has made me try a little harder than I normally would with lures I am not completely sure of. I now have confidence in a few different lures that I otherwise may never have used enough to really feel comfortable with. I caught my first 2 fish ever on a DT Thug, which I probably wouldn't have used as much had I not been doing this. Now if I can only conquer the Minnow Rap I'll be happy!!! 92. DTF-3 Blue Shad 93. DTT Bleeding Olive Shiner 94. DTT Green Shad 95. SW-8 Shad Translucent 96. SW-8 Frog Also got this one, though I already had a pickerel on it earlier this year!!

You should use an old jigging rap as one. It would make a nice picture. I went fishing today and was using a W-7 S Finland and caught a lot of fish! I would just cast it out and jig it back. The bass were fighting over it.

I have never used a jigging rap before, so I may have to give that a try!! I have caught fish on a few lures lately that I haven't ever been successful with before(including today), so I'm feeling like trying some new stuff may not be such a bad idea!! I got two more today, including finally conquering one of my nemeses!! I have a few lure models that have been frustrating me for years now. The only 2 lures I still had never been successful with at all were the Tail Dancer and the Minnow Rap. Now the Tail Dancer doesn't really bother me too much. I only have the deep version, and fish shallow 95% of the time. Also it's not really a bass lure by design, and that's what I fish for. Now the Minnow Rap, on the other hand, drives me crazy. I mean, it's supposed to be shad rap action in a minnow profile. Sounds right up my alley. Also, Ted is only about 125 miles away from me. His fish can't act too differently from mine, and he has had tons of success with the MR. Also the action of the lure looks great to me. All these factors led me to believe the minnow rap SHOULD work in my lake!!! Yet it never has! Until today that is!!!! The bass I caught was far from big, but to me it was one of my favorite fish this year. If I can cross one or two more minnow raps off my list before the end of the year, I will be very pleased!! 97. MR-7 Yellow Perch 98. DTF-3 Chartreuse Brown

Yesterday I only had about an hour after work to fish before dark. I decided to try the little stream that runs off of my local lake. I hadn't been there in a while so I figured I'd give it a try. I only got one, and honestly I don't even know what it is. Just going off a local magazine I saw, which listed the fish species that are present in my area, I think it may be an American Shad, but I'm not sure. 99. DTF-3 Red Crawdad I took the boat out today, and had an eventful day. Things started out pretty well. I caught a few decent fish, and a few small ones. Then I got really, really lucky!!! I had a nice bass a few weeks ago, who snapped my line and stole my custom painted DT FAT-3. By some stroke of luck, I found it today floating in some vegetation. I was happy as all hell!!! But of course, my happiness was short lived. I had caught a few small fish on my F-9 Gudgeon, which I only received a few days ago in a trade with Roeroeyerboat. I was trying to get a bigger fish on it, but I should have just left well enough alone. My first dumb move(not my last) was casting it over top of a limb of a fallen tree. There was a nice sized opening between a few of the limbs, which I thought looked like a great spot for a bass to be hiding. Unfortunately, I was right. He hit the lure, and of immediately swam down into the mess of branches. My line got all wrapped up in something, but I thought I felt the fish still moving. Now for my even dumber move!! There was no room for me to get my boat in there, so I climbed out onto the limbs of the tree. At this point, I felt no more movement, but still wanted my lure back!! Then, I somehow snapped the line without even doing much. I guess all the rubbing against branches was more than my line could handle. I couldn't see the lure, so I put my rod back in the boat, and grabbed my net. I proceeded to stick my net under the water and rub it up against any submerged branches I could reach, hoping to snag the net on my lure. Well, while intently focused on my lure recovery mission, I forgot about one major thing. Boats Float!!! Yep, my boat just floated away, as I sat there lure chasing. Not my brightest moment for sure!! Luckily, just as I had stripped down to my boxers and prepared to start swimming, an older couple who I talk to every once in a while, saw me and my predicament. The husband hopped in their canoe, and towed my boat back to me!! I still was never able to find my lure though!! GRRRRRR!!!!! To top it all off, just as I set the hook on one of my best bass of the year, the skies opened up and a torrential downpour ensued!! I am usually not in the business of leaving right after I catch a nice fish, but that's how it worked today. Losing one lure pissed me off enough, but water logging my camera would have been too much for me to take. Also, getting struck by lightning, or having a tree fall on my head, doesn't really sound like fun to me. At least I reached my 100 lure goal!! 100. F-9 Gudgeon 101. DT-4 Silver 102. DT-6 White Crappie (Custom from Joe's Custom Baits) 103. DTF-3 Firetiger

I went exploring today to try to find some new spots to fish!! I have a little stream that runs off of my local lake, but have only caught fish in a small stretch of it. The rest of the way it gets really shallow, and isn't very easy to get to. I decided to try to make my way through the woods and found a nice little spot where the water gets just deep enough to hold fish. I don't think anyone has fished there very often, if at all!! I caught a bass on my first cast, and missed another on my second cast!! I may have to take my exploration a little further next time!! I honestly didn't expect to find anywhere good, but I'm glad I tried!! 104. J-9 Gold Fluorescent Red

I recently made a few trips to the small stream that runs off of my lake. I hadn't fished there much since early in the season. No one else really goes back there, so I guess these fish hadn't seen a lure often, if ever. I caught so many small bass it was hard to keep count. I also got out on the boat once, where I tested out the new Ultra Light Minnow, as well as adding few more lures to my list!! I am now to the point where I running out of lures to use!! Most of the one's I have left I have never caught a thing with!! I am still hoping to add a few more to my list before winter though!! 107. F-9 Dino (Custom from SCT) 108. Awesome job Q-Bert! I say that if you get to 148 (double your bet) you should get $200 worth of Rapalas from your lady! I want to see a photo of her handing over the lures!
On a separate yet very serious note - I'm wondering if you couldn't keep documenting this and set some sort of World Record? Or at least a title!
Regardless - very impressive indeed!
